Ruger P89 DC

I've been looking at a used P89dc. Can anyone that's used one tell me any likes or dislikes about it? Thanks

Do you have any Ruger semi-autos? While I don't have a P89, I'm extremely pleased with my P90. I've had the chance to shoot a P89 and was just as pleased with that. The P-series pistols are great pistols. Nice and rugged. I do prefer the hogue grips on them though, so if this one doesn't have those, maybe think about picking one up.

Someone will inevitably chime in with the "well if you can stand to look at the ugly thing" remark. I've never thought my P90 was ugly, but hey, to each their own. Besides, I'd trade functionality for looks any day of the week.

Yes, I have a P94 in a .40 and I've been really pleased with it.

I've had a P93 9mm since 1998 and couldn't be happier with it. Its a little bulky, but VERY solidly built.

I have a P85 MKII, the daddy of the P89. A bit thick or bulky for some but it's not any heavier, actually a bit lighter, than some in it's class and will still be running when some of the so called "pretty" guns are out of action. This one has never jammed or quit on me through one helluva lot of rds. It aint a target pistol but will shoot pretty well up against most other service type pistols.:)

I bought a used P89DC back in 1992 at a local shop. It has digested every single round I've ever fed it without a hiccup. Accuracy has been good if not spectacular. I've lost count of how many thousands of rounds have been fired in my P89. Yes, I'd buy another. BTW, mine has Hogues on it.

I have what I believe is the same pistol, except with a 3.9 in barrel as opposed to the 4.5 in barrel; the P93 DC. I like the fact that it is decocker only (hence the "DC" suffix). It eats anything I feed it and is easy the keep on target do to its low recoil. It is built to last. Also, one thing that I have noticed is that it is very easy for my wife, sister, and mother to rack the slide; an important consideration considering how many pistols are a little hard for smaller women or people with arthritis to chamber that first round or clear a stoppage (not that you should expect any stoppages out of the ultra-reliable Ruger). I highly recommend.

I have one, never had any problems with it. It is rather large and bulky, compared to a lot of other double stack 9mm's, but unless you are looking for something for concealed carry, that is not an issue. Like most Rugers, built like a tank.

I have a P90. Very reliable pistol. Never had a problem with it. The Ruger semi's are very solid.

It was my first pistol. Very reliable, heavy, and durable as an anvil!
