I am looking for some kind person out there that has a 30-30 Lee Loader. I have one but I do not have the paper work. I especially need the load table which gives loads for various powders etc. I also need the dimensioned drawing of the round itself. I also want to make sure mine has the appropriate powder measure dipper in it. If some one could email me a copy of their paper work I sure would appreciate it. My email address is -urciuoli1@netzero.com - Thanks again, Ron

rwhichel...Welcome to THR...The first thing I would do is purchase a Lyman's 49th Edition load manual. That will have all the information you requested and then some...The manual only cost around $20.00 and has thousands of dollars worth of information...

Which dipper do you have?

What a good response by Bushmaster. The Lee manual also has dimensioned drawings for nearly every cartridge you can name. I saw it on sale recently for $14. Try Amazon.com or just Google the name.

Now for the most important part: I started with Lee Loaders, and I still occasionally load a 30-30 with mine. I bought a $12 reloading scale to weigh the powder charges, and boy that was the best twelve bucks! The dippers are approximate for many powders, exact for none, and unfortunately far too limited for a satisfactory load. Buy or beg or borrow a scale. The cheapest beam scales are as accurate as the most expensive.

Thanks for the welcome and your reply. My Lee Loader is one of the older models that came in the cardboard box instead of a plastic box. The dippers were marked in cu. inches instead cu.centimeters like the newer models. My dipper is red and is marked ".129" , it also says "warning:use this measure only with Lee Charge Table". I would like to have a copy of the charge Table to put in the box with the Loader. Thanks so much, Ron

I have the new LEE Loader in 30-30 Winchester so I think the card I have will be a waste of time. Call Lee if you just want to complete the set but I would strongly look into purchasing a Lyman book, a scale and even a set of Lee Dippers (only $7.00 bucks). I have all the high tech reloading equipment and plenty of beam scales and the Green charge master and assorted colors of presses but I still like to get out the Lee loaders and a set of dippers.

Just sunday, I loaded up a box (50) of 30-30 w/trail boss and 150 LFP boolits with the LEE Loader, a 2x4, and a hammer. I use the old RCBS scale. I really love this old school way of doing things. This makes a surf trip to San Onofre CA complete.

rwhichel, I understand what you wish to do. BUT... gunpowder production changes over time. The old tables won't be any good any more. The density of each powder and the energy it contains are different today. I just don't think the old tables will be reliable.

Maybe think about that book and that scale. Where are you located? I'll lend you a scale if you're close. And we can photocopy pages from the books.

For load data go to one of the online sites like Hodgdon or Alliant. DO NOT TRY TO LOAD NEAR MAXIMUM WITH LEE DIPPER, EVER THE STARTING LOADS WILL BE TO HOT IN MY OPINION WHEN NOT USING A SCALE. Remember your only neck sizing the case, if the load is on the higher pressure velocity end, the case/loaded round will no longer fit your guns chamber after as little as 3 firings. This is where Full Length Resizing is Needed.

you notice there is no load data for trailboss on http://www.leeprecision.com/cgi-data...ct/Dippers.pdf
.... i wonder how old the slider chart is cause it is not listed in the chart with my set of dippers that i got a few weeks ago???

Claude, Thank you so much for your reply. I sure would appreciate your emailing me a copy of your paper work. I just want to put it in the box with the loader so that it is a complete kit. I am in no hurry for it so take your time. Thanks again, Ron

If you could send me a copy of both sides of the charge table in your new model Lee Loader, I sure would appreciate it. I would like to see how the loads have changed from the old model to the new. To the rest of you all that responded, and told me to get a powder scale, a complete set of lee dippers, and a loading manual, thank you so much for your very good advice but I already have all that stuff. I just want to complete this kit with the instructions. Thanks again, Ron

I have an older 30-30 LL with the simple version of the charge table they used then (1966). If you would like a scan of it for nostalgic reasons, let me know.

I've got an older set of complete "cubic inch" dippers and chart. I'll try to locate it with corrensponding powders. As some noted, many of the powders on that chart no longer exist.

I'd recommend that you get a Lee powder scale ($20), and the Lee #2 Manual ($15), along with a set of the newer dippers ($7).

Then you'll have it "really covered".

I've got a number of progressive presses, and several adjustable powder measures, but I still make heavy use of the Lee dippers for "throwing" a charge before trikling up to a weighed charge.

Good luck. I started out with the .30/30 and a Lee loader set. Got a number of "1-hole" groups from a Remington M788 with it too!
