Four police officers, alerted to an early morning blaze by a passerby who walked into the 45th Precinct, and an off-duty corrections officer who was headed home, ran into a burning building to rescue three residents from a raging house fire in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 29.
Landlord Joe Tucci, Anthony’s son, said of the rescuers, "If it wasn’t for the officers, my father would have died. They were wonderful. I don’t think the officers get enough credit for the work they do."
