i bought a pack of "flamethrower" shells at a gunshow, and was just wondering if anyone has ever used these suckers. i'm a little scared to try them out just yet...

Never used them, never had a use for them.

I am to understand they shoot quite a bit of flame and sparks so be careful where you do use them.

One of our guys brought some of the original Dragon's Breath shells to the range and shot them after an IDPA match. They put out a large column of flame that would ignite used targets at 25 yards. Of course it was catching on the tattered paper at the edge of bullet holes. Even so that was way more reach than I expected.

Not much use, though. I guess it would be a terror weapon to repel an assailant who was not determined to press his attack. If he was determined, better have some buckshot for followup.

Run them through a Saiga 12 with a 20 rd drum and you have yourself a nice flamethrower!

Useless for almost anything, unless you're repelling boarders from the gunwale.

That's cool as ice. Therefore it's useful.
