Federal or Remington either one. Some shotguns have problems with the Winchester sticking in the chamber. Some have problems with all three.

never had an issue with either federal or Remington. Don't really like the Winchester shells; had some duds (and no it is not the gun).
That's just my 2 cents though

I pretty much have only shot federals through my mossberg 500.

Federals run perfectly through my 500. But honestly, I don't think you will have any issues with any of the above mentioned. Yeah one might be dirtier or what have you, but in general they will be good to go.

The Winchester bulk pack stuff seems to have more than its share of feed/jamming/empty stuck in the chamber issues.
I have always had better performance with Federal shotgun ammo***, since I started shotgunning ahhhhhhh about 40 years back.

There is the caveat of "Every Shotgun/Ammo Combination is a Law unto itself", so Your Mileage Will Vary.

The federal stuff is the most consistent, and the hulls last better for reloading. The burnt powder in the Fed stuff also smells terrific. :)

Those Walmart value packs of 100 are what I usually buy for trap shooting. I have not had a failure on any of the brands. However, the Winchester seems to be the dirtiest of the three and leaves more residue in my gun. Given a choice I use the Federal. The Federal shoots well and leaves the least amount of clean up for my shotgun.

Oh i did have some major problems with a few boxes of federal. one was only half full. another buy gave me 3 empty shells. lastly one shell literally blew it's way out of the barrel of my shotgun. o.0 took me forever to see and get that fixed. :D i still stand by federal though.
P.S milkman i'm in T.N to. ever heard of hohenwald?

I didn't vote because I have not had any problems with any of them. They seem pretty equal.

Remington is the best ammo. Cleanest, can be reloaded many times, etc. Now I'm talking about clay shooting. For shooting watermelons, it probably offers nothing extra that you need.
Federal is the best value. It's a tad dirty, but it shoots well, and if you don't care about reloading, the Remington is probably not worth buying. I use the Federals for everything from Trap to hunting to dog training. However, in a semi, you may want to try the cleaner Remington. Try both.
Current bulk Winchester Universals have feed problems, and often jam in 870s. I've had it happen, and I've seen it happen. Others here say the same.
Remington Sport Loads = highest quality, but significantly more expensive, at least locally
Federal Bulk Pack = dirtier, but otherwise great. I use them most often. Best value IMO.
Winchesters = Don't Buy, as far as I'm concerned, mainly due to poor sizing. They'll work fine in a break-action, but I don't use them in repeaters any more.

I love the smell of Federal's in the morning!

The only surefire way of knowing is buy one of each, then shoot them all. "Actually doing it" is a very common theme with guns--shotguns particularly.
