Tomorrow Never Dies; James Bond

What is the Model Walther that he picks up in the scene where he is with the china woman in her place when he is collecting all the gear for there next mission. He picks it up and says "...I asked Q to get me one of these".

Thanks in advance.

I believe it's the P99, it was a joint product between walther and S&W. They both sold it but one had a square trigger guard the other was round. I can't rember which was which but other than that they are the same.

That is correct. It was a Walther P99.

AND it had the worst trigger pull of any gun I have ever squeezed. in fact, I think I pulled for 3 minutes before it broke.

I like it... I think this will be my present to my girlfriend. I think the trigger should do just fine as it will definitely make her think twice before firing...

Since we are ID'ing Bond firearms, anyone know what this little pistol is:

Walther PPK, the traditional Bond handgun. Shaken, not stirred.

Walther PPK, the traditional Bond handgun. What? That's how small a PPK is? The watch in the photo looks almost bigger than the pistol. Well, I learn something new every day, sometimes when I not even trying...

I'm so glad the PPK made a cameo in the new film. :D

I am big walther fan particularly the PPK and I am an even bigger Bond fan.
I just got back from the movie tonight.
I have to admit I was a little dissapointed in this one compared to Casino, but still topped most of Brosman.

PPK Police Pistol Kurz

Kurz=Small or Short

I own a PPK as am sure many of you do but I personally find it to be a worthless firearm.

What is it you don't like? The .380 or something about the gun? Just curious.

fwiw, Kurz = short and Klein = small

MasterDei,

.380 isn't the greatest cartridge but that isn't the reason for my dislike of the model. I should be more specific as well and single out the post S&W arrangement guns. They are not well finished in general. If you are going to buy a new Walther go Polymer--it hurts to say that.--PPS's are grrreat!

Also Mein Freund although the literal translation of Kurz is Short in this case small applies as well. In honesty the generally accepted PPK definition I gave is not really correct in that a true Walthermeister von Deutschland would say that es ist Polizeipistole Kriminellmodell (Police Pistol Detective Model). Either way it was designed as a small or short pistol.

Facts clarify themselves sometimes. It's been years since I've used this much German. I'll stop now. I just wish Walther made a PPS style pistol in .45ACP.
