I got to wondering where people are when they have had to use(at least draw, not necessarily use) their CW.
Was it at the gas station? a home invasion? where?
Since I live in a fairly safe area I would figure my really needing one is walking into a store or getting gas.

To you guys and gals that have had to draw yours, what was the situation at the time?

Well being it was a general handgun guestion I took a stab at putting it here.

I had to pull mine in the parking lot of my apt. I'm not going to say it was a l:Dng time a go, I'll just point out that my CCW was a flintlock :D

Right here in my own neighborhood, twice. Both times it was the neighbor's big, rabid dog. One time while we were in our driveway unloading groceries he tried to sneak up behind me and bite me in the butt. A warning shot made him stop.

The next time it was the same dog trying to bite my wife and son as they walked to our mailbox. I drew but didn't pull the trigger, my wife and kid were too close to the line of fire. I beat him off with a broom handle instead. The neighbor threatened me but was afraid of my gun. I told him I would put the gun in the house and then he could come over and make good on his threat. He was a coward with a big mouth so he turned tail and ran.

I called the cops and told them I had at least two witnesses hear the neighbor threaten me. Snohomish County cops are kind of worthless.

Sorry to any LEO's out there. I don't mean to offend you and appreciate what you do. It's just this one police force in my area that is bad (well maybe two). As I always say "If the shoe fits, wear it, if it doesn't please don't take offense".
