Was just driving from the store and heard a snippet of Michael Savage saying that General Weslie Clark was Commanding General of Fort Hood and III Corps when the Waco massacre occurred. According to Savage, those tanks, helicopters and "support" came from Fort Hood.

Anyone else hear this? ***?

Where else did you think those Army tanks and helo's came from? That news flash was on the news as the equipment rolled up.

Well I knew the ATF was trained at Fort Hood but for some reason I thought the armor was National Guard.

Silly me.

The armor at Waco was from the National Guard, not the active army.
However, some of the 49 AD gear is stored at North Ft Hood.

ATF may have trained at Ft Hood but so do many other federal agencies, local law enforcement ,and other branches of service.

I do not recall Clark as the III Corps Commander at the time of Waco but I will check.

Oh and so what? Do not see where this would go.

Clark commanded the 1st Cav at the time of Waco.

Well Savage was right. Clark was commanding something at Ft. Hood. Like I said I just caught a snippet of that show. I don't know where he was going with it either.

Clark is an arrogant first class piece of, he was in charge of murdering all the Bosnians and almost started WW3 with the Russins, thanks to a Brit general who stopped him it turned out ok...hes a wolf in sheeps clothing. Hes alienated every officer who has had to serve under him.

I don't think his position at Ft Hood makes him in any way responsible for the actions of the FBI or ATF.

If a Dem wins, he would run for re-election in 2008 and Hillary's chance would not come until 2012 when she would be very old to hope to win.

Unless, of course, Hillary's the VP, and Pres. Clark suddenly gets sad and decides to shoot himself in a park somewheres. :scrutiny:

Actually, that'd be George McClellan, who ran against Lincoln in 1864.

I agree that something is up with Clark and the Clintons. Whether they're setting him up for a fall or what, I'm not sure. I've heard speculation on the radio that he's there to maybe try to pull support from Dean, then would defer to Satan, I mean Hillary, if and when she decides to enter the race in 2004. This would only happen if they decide Bush is vulnerable enough.

Even more interesting speculation comes on the GOP side. Scenario: Cheney does not run for VP, and both Rumsfeld and Powell resign. Cheney is set up to return as SecDef, and Condi Rice runs as VP on the Bush ticket, thus setting Rice up to run against Hillary in 2008. That would be a truly fascinating matchup. There's also the added bonus that running an extremely accomplished black woman prevents the Social Democrats from using a lot of their usual race-baiting tactics.

They desperately want Bush to win

Interesting thought .................... ?

The longer Bush is president and he keeps pushing Patriot Act N, the more absolute power the Democrats will have when they finally regain the White House.

Of course, the Dems are darn mad because Bush has accomplished more liberal and statist agenda in 3 years than they could accomplish in 8.

I saw an interview with Clark where he said that if you want to have guns, you should join the Army. He is the absolute worst of a bad lot.

Blades67: I got your tagline as a bumpersticker from the CLerke Arms co., along with a GREAT 10/22 .22LR barrel.

The info on Wes Clark is posted at FrontPageMagazine (?)--do a Google. It is rumored that he also lent "military advice" to the FBI on the scene.

"If you want guns, go join the Army." Isn't this what the Nazis told all the good Germans to do after they handed in their guns?
ATF may have trained at Ft Hood but so do many other federal agencies, local law enforcement ,and other branches of service.Under the law, those LE agencies may use military funds for training and raids only if there was a "drug nexus." The BATF lied to the Army when they said that Koresh had a meth lab in his church.

See the book, "No More Wacos" by Kopel. Buy the book at Amazon.com or read a snippet here:

That is true. However, like I said many other LE agencies train (i.e. use the facilities not receive direct funding) on Ft Hood.

Clark is what Col. David Hackworth calls a "Perfumed Prince", only interested in getting his ticket punched and one of those officiers who are more interested in their career than in serving his country and the men assigned under him.

He'd sell his own grandmother if he thought it would enhance his career or get him more brownie points with the politaticians.

To Clark.....:fire:

Well, the connection between Clark and Waco has hit drudgereport...

http://www.dfw.com/mld/startelegram/news/state/7369623.htm

An Army division commanded by Wesley Clark supplied some of the military equipment for the government's 51-day standoff with a religious sect in Waco, Texas, and Clark's deputy, now the Army Chief of Staff, took part in a crucial Justice Department meeting five days before the siege ended in disaster, according to military records.

Clark's involvement in support of the Waco operation a decade ago was indirect and fleeting, according to his former commanding officer. But the assistance to civilian law enforcement agencies by military officers around Clark and soldiers under his command has prompted a flurry of questions to his presidential campaign.
