Help needed! Can any one tell me where I can find or buy [B]577/450 cartridge cases for a Martini-Henry rifle??
I know little about them but learning as I go along. I'd really appreciate some help, or pointing in the right direction.
Many thanks.

Rocky Mountain Cartridge (http://www.rockymountaincartridge.com/page5.html) (my personal favorite source, all lathe turned from solid brass), Buffalo Arms (http://www.buffaloarms.com/browse.cfm/4,5733.html), and MidwayUSA (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=181580&t=11082005).
Welcome to The High Road, friend. :)

Maybe give the lathe turned brass a miss though, it tends to be fragile.

How so? Same brass alloy (or better than some, really), properly hardened case head, properly annealed neck.... I haven't had problems. :)

Just from experience, pleased to hear that you haven't had problems with them.
It's generally accepted these days with the MH crowd that turned brass is the last resort due to the availability of drawn brass.
I found that annealing the turned brass helped, but compared to the Kynoch drawn brass they didn't last as long. Also got bits falling off the case mouth and a couple which pulled apart..one even managed to send the neck down the barrel.
As the brass does cost so much, I'd advise anyone wanting to shoot the MH 577-450 to get drawn brass over turned.
Just my .02 you understand:)

I have an 1882 short lever,barrel has been replaced with a mod-whitworth?
The barrel looks octogon and has rib in each corner;never seen another barrel like it since.I still have 1 1/2 boxes of kynock 1952 paper patched cartriges, and some brass;if I don't size the cases and just fit them w /beeswax blend lube the cases don't crack.
I found dies in Montana when I was sitting at a cafe and started talking with a gentleman about bp firearms.I'm now going to have to ante up for some brass.

The brass really isn't too bad, when you realize that you can reload the quality stuff literally dozens of times. Money well spent, in my mind. :)

I bought a Nepal cache Martini Henry Mk.II a few years back.
Brass was hard to get then. To get brass I bought some rather expensive TenX loaded ammo.
The brass they use must be good, because I have loaded it several times and it is still fine.
The loaded ammo is outragously priced! However it has paid for itself by now. Not to mention it got my Martini shooting.
