Reading all these threads on TEOTWAKI since the election got me depressed so I thought I'd post some pics of my sis-in-law, bro and me having fun w/ my shotguns. Both are new to shooting and had a good time.

I was especially pleased that my SIL showed no fear, good form and would do it again.

I will use a .22 next time with reactive targets for more shooting pleasure.

Hey thanks for relieving the depression from the election. Your pictures showed me that I can relax and live to fight another day.

Looks fun. I generally don't relax with shotguns. But they sure are fun to blast a few things with. I really like your "gun cart". Looks like you got your bug out vehicle all loaded up. :)

I'd love to do that in back yard. Have fun. Be safe.

Agreed... I've been mostly avoiding my favorite gun forums since the election. Just starting to get back online...

A minor nit: in the picture of your SIL, she's displaying "sway back" instead of leaning into the shot... pivot on the front foot, swing with the back.

Other than that minor point, good on y'all for getting out and practicing.

Very nice.

I wish I could just wheel barrel a bunch of stuff out back and shoot!

Paper target shooting with shotguns  why not throw clay targets?

If one shows (teaches?) the proper form for shooting a shotgun, it doesn't hurt so much and isn't so intimidating to new or smaller framed shooters.

But yes, a .22 rifle is probably better for new shooters. Get them addicted, then move then on to the harder stuff! (Insert evil laugh here.)

And now for the back story...

I was visiting my folks with my Mossberg, fresh from the gunsmith, and the Hi-Standard which I had bought as a stunt double for the Mossberg, to check operation and pattern them. (hence the paper) Bro and SIL were there and I asked them if they cared to join me, and they did.

Off we went with our tactical wheel barrow to make some noise.

It was an ad-hoc operation. We gathered windfall apples and various veggies not meant for table.

We did try throwing the fruit in the air but ran out before we got the hang of the proper toss.

I do plan on getting some kind of thrower so we can enjoy the proper destruction of clay pigeons.

The .22s will join me for T-day.

I am busy introducing more people to shooting: Must remember camera.
