Gents,

First post yay aside from that got a bit of a delima CZ 527 m1 ultra light or the Savage 10 predator hunter.. Both are magical out of the box..use of this weapon will include varmints..coyotes.. I want something I can shoulder and fire..quickly, caliber will be in 223..

I trust savage more then I do CZ cuz I own a couple sav's and they have never failed me however ive seen countless posts and images of the Cz's ability to shoot sub moa with m193 military surp ammo.. that in itself.. is highly intriguing.

Someone help me put an end to my stirring headache. :(

There are very few people shooting any gun sub-moa with milsurp ammo, except the Swiss 7.5. CZ's are ok, I like the Mauser action and have several of them. However "I" have not seen a CZ that would shoot with my Savage 12 FV right out of the box. And I know probably a dozen people I shoot with that have them in everything from .223 to .458 Lott.

I think the CZ is a nicer looking gun, and it can shoot pretty well (good enough?), but I don't think the average CZ will shoot with the average Savage.

If you are talking about the CZ 527 carbine, I own two and they are easily the most ergonomical rifles I've ever experienced. Put ghost ring sights on one and it would be so deadly fast you'd be a gunslinger. Do yourself a favor and don't buy anything until you shoulder one of these. And don't worry about the short barrel, accuracy is awesome out of the box.

I've seen some stellar accuracy out of the box with Savage rifles, at least with the heavy barrels. My buddy has one in 204 which is a tack driver. Dang those things are HEAVY to carry very far.

For coyotes, my little CZ 527 Lux is the cat's azz. Light, easy to carry, ergonomic.

I think you will be happy with either of them. I think the CZ is easier to shoulder though.

It's just tough for a hammer fored barrel to shoot with a good button rifled barrel. Savage button rifles all their barrels. That process in itself to me explains why Savage rifles are hard to beat for accuracy. Savage is upgrading the quality over the years on their rifles as well. They now are making some very nice looking rifles with nice wood.

The CZ has a set trigger. The Savage allows you to swap barrels if you like. It's a difficult decision.

I own three CZ rifles, and I can tell you that they are amazing. Each is MUCH more accurate than my Remington 700s, and they have semicustom Douglas barrels! However, from what I've seen there are plenty of Savage rifles that could outshoot my CZs. Personally, I have a hard time getting over the way Savage rifles look, they are ugly to me. I've been looking into getting into F-class, and I'd start with a Savage for that.

I like to swap barrels, so that answers it for me.

I had same dilemma a few months back, but I was deciding between a Savage 10FCM and a CZ 550 FS each in .308.

I ended up choosing the CZ. It cost $100 more, but it was prettier..

Trigger is adjustable and can be used as a set trigger for greater accuracy. I'm excited to be starting my new love affair with it. I shot about 80 rounds through it so far and appear to be a better shot than I really am.

Of course I daydream about getting the Savage too.
