Just trying to get a general consensus from the mosin users: do you think the 7.62x54r round is going to become hard to get with our new prez? Do you think 7.62x39 will be the same, different, explain?

I think that most imported ammo will dry up. Everyone is buying it all up and I think there is more is being bought than being imported.
In the past few weeks 7.62x39 has went up in price $20-$50,which makes me mad because I was stupid because I didn't buy any when it was "cheap".

All the more reason to consider getting into reloading, if you don't right now. Why put yourself at the mercy of the importers and the incoming administration? It's not difficult if you have some common sense. I'm stocking up on brass, powder and bullets before they get any worse. If I was buying loaded ammo, it would be the boxer primed stuff to reload.

Barry-O could pretty easily interfere with importation of foreign production ammunition, would would spell the end of dirt cheap 7.62x54. The question is whether or not he tries it. Lots of theories on whether or not he will (some better and worse on both sides of the debate) but no one really knows for sure either way.

If you're worried about it, I'd say stock up now. It might even help the cause more generally -- the current surge in gun and gun stuff sales might make Barry and the DNC pause for fear of voter backlash before taking a swing at the 2nd Amendment. (I firmly believe that the majority of politicians of all flavors are more concerned with getting/keeping power over ideology.)

yea with the gun serge that is happening, it would be pretty stupid to have a gun but no ammo. the site where i bought my ammo from, alot of stuff is sold out.. all the incendiary ammo and AP is all gone  and they had alot!!!
its sucks, i was going to buy incendiary ammo but didnt because of fear of starting fire's... was waiting till winter but o well

I personally don't think that guns or ammunition is going to become nearly as rare as most think. The current surge in gun sales is a little extreme IMO. I don't think that B.O. will do anything but get the Brady bill back into effect. But do consider reloading for your Mosin and other guns....it's very rewarding.

I can remember buying that stuff from Century at ~$40/can, and that was less than three years ago. Even after things had gone up at the end of last year, I was able to get nice Hungarian surplus for $75/can OTD. Not anymore.

I'd say it'll last longer than 7.62x39. People can't really pound away at it like with their AKs. So, people will probably buy less of it. But as with all surplus, it won't last forever. I'd say no reason to freak out.

In order to know what a gun grabber is going to do with power you must think like one.

Under a new AWB sks' and AK's will be banned way before mosins will be. Therefore it would make more sense that the ammo sks' and AK's fire will be banned before than that of a mosin's.

Think about it, what looks more scary, an AK or a Mosin. What instills more illogical fear in the hearts of the ignorant? Im going with the AK and the ammo it fires.

God, I sure hope your right. That is a good message to send, "Touch the 2A and kiss your majority goodbye."
