Do these polls even make a difference to us? Why is there such a fuss over them?

November 17, 2008, 06:23 PM
i would think that anything we can do to raise awareness of the fact that we support gun rights would make a difference.

November 17, 2008, 06:29 PM

i did my part

November 17, 2008, 07:58 PM
With a positive result being shown, the survey will never see the light of day, it does not adhere to the liberal agenda. Come to think of it, I dont beleive I have EVER seen the results of one of these surveys make it to the light of day. :scrutiny:

November 17, 2008, 08:19 PM
55% us 45% them

November 17, 2008, 08:21 PM
Voted and passed the link on to some others that believe in the 2nd amendment and ccw....

Let's get their panties in a bunch....

November 17, 2008, 09:04 PM
A positive result not making the light of day is still better than a negative result being publicized nationwide.

Ah, nothing like a scientific poll to gauge public opinion!

November 17, 2008, 11:38 PM
Oooh, now this is something I'm quite passionate about. I hear Texas has some strong buy-in and is very likely on the verge of legalizing it, come this spring.

Also, I just wanted to say, I respect them for the way they worded the poll:
"Should holders of valid permits to carry concealed weapons be allowed to take their guns on college campuses?"

Often, it's so misleadingly worded as, "Should students be allowed to take their guns on college campuses?"

61%-39%. Not bad.

November 18, 2008, 12:57 AM
I find the wording of the No option interesting.

Confusing officers? The officers that cannot even physically be there? If there's one thing that was learned from Va Tech (and all police departments now acknowledge this) is that an active shooter takes very little time and once he runs into what he believes to be true resistance, he will kill himself.

I'm thinking that an officer won't be able to respond in time to even be "confused" by CCW holders. I suppose a valid concern, but the holders (hopefully) wouldn't be roaming the halls and buildings shooting multiple groups.

November 18, 2008, 04:22 PM
Was a little worried, last time I voted things didn't turn out too well.

November 18, 2008, 04:31 PM

All of your gun poll are belong to us!!!

November 18, 2008, 05:08 PM

November 18, 2008, 06:45 PM
that's actually cool to see that it's that significant of a difference.

i forwarded that poll and that article to my state delegate with the question/title: 13 states of CCW on campus in their legislatures and we can't get a shall-issue bill out of judiciary?

he said and i quote: thanks for the information.

November 18, 2008, 07:02 PM
75-25! We're looking good!

November 25, 2008, 01:25 PM

I'd bet big $ that when this poll is over MSNBC never reports the results.

November 25, 2008, 07:45 PM
I just voted and it's still at 80/20 w/ us leading. I agree it will be interesting to see whether the results are actually reported or not.

November 26, 2008, 06:51 AM won't be reported.

the person in charge of the msnbc poll will instead petition msnbc with using the on-air time as a moment of silence for all the people killed at VT. then they'll do a completely unrelated piece about assault rifles being linked to teen pregnancy and global warming.

November 26, 2008, 11:09 AM
Did my part, 80/20

John Wayne
November 26, 2008, 11:28 AM
80/20 when I voted as well.

Why should a college campus be treated any differently than Wal-Mart, or a bank? Are educated people above being attacked somehow?

November 26, 2008, 11:40 AM
The poll seems to be closed now; I wasn't able to vote.

It's 80% to 20% now, with over 27,000 votes!:)

November 26, 2008, 09:14 PM
Did my part. 80/20 as of 5:13 PM PST. Being a college student myself this is pretty relevant to my life.

December 1, 2008, 12:16 AM
81% to 19% now, in our favor...

And after you vote, delete your cookies and vote again... come on, the Libs do it all the time in the general elections...

December 20, 2008, 02:37 PM
