speedsix November 17, 2008, 10:27 PM My buddy just got one and it seems pretty good. It was $250 and seems a nice package for the money. It jammed a lot with CCI Blazer alloy case ammo but that is not a reason to judge it too fast. I have had guns that were otherwise reliable but not with alloy case ammo.
Any other reason why it is not a decent gun?

gbelleh November 17, 2008, 10:42 PM My PF-9 has fired over 900 rounds with no problems of any kind (never shot aluminum cased ammo through mine). Others have had problems with theirs. I can say, if you get a good one, they are great CCW guns.
ChuteTheMall November 17, 2008, 10:46 PM I like it, but the long trigger reset makes fast accurate followup shots difficult (compared to a Glock) and it recoils pretty hard (being thin and light). Slow accurate shooting is OK, better in my hands than a revolver.
It's the last gun I fire when I take it to the range, and even then I only shoot a couple of mags thru it. It's not much of a fun gun, but it's reliable and concealable so it fills that need very well.
RX-178 November 17, 2008, 10:50 PM All I can say is that it works for me.
bragood November 17, 2008, 10:59 PM I actually prefer the trigger and have never shot a glock. I got mine used the other day and took it to the range yesterday. It shoots great and is a great pocket gun.
speedsix November 17, 2008, 11:05 PM I was actually impressed at how well it felt in recoil. I was expecting it to be a lot snappier. Whatever they did, made it shoot rather soft compared to what I expected.
doglb November 17, 2008, 11:28 PM I agree with speedsix, I thought the recoil would be alot worse, very managable. I just finished running 200rnds through mine without any problems!! I love the slim design, easy for pocket carry!
A plus, mine came with the metal mag release. :D
moxie November 19, 2008, 11:23 AM The recoil is relatively soft compared to some other small guns you may be used to since it uses the locked breech system instead of the blowback system.
ROVERMAN November 19, 2008, 02:13 PM Bought mine back in May and have run over 500 rounds of all types and grains. (Other than reloads). Not one single FTF or FTE and out to normal self defense distances, 21-25ft it puts all rounds where you want them. Recoil wise I would consider it about normal for such a small light gun, a little snappy but nothing that can't be controlled. It is not as smooth shooting as my tuned 92FS or my G21 but then again it is not a 92FS or a G21. It certainly fits my bill as a CCW/ "get off me gun" and with the optional belt clip it can be concealed even in your boxer shorts! In my personal opinion for the $279.00 you pay for it, the lifetime warranty and it is AMERICAN MADE you can't go wrong.
trekgod3 November 19, 2008, 03:40 PM BTW, Kel-tec recomends only brass though its guns.
krs November 19, 2008, 04:51 PM The PF9 is a more shootable little pistol than a P3at. These guys are right, the recoil is controlled and the result is a better caliber than .380 with less percieved recoil than their .380.
But.......I got so completely sick of the long trigger pulls of Keltecs that I gave up on the whole idea of pocket guns and carry a G19 or a Colt New Agent and find ways to dress to cover the fact that the pistol is in an OWB holster at my hip.
I'm more comfortable and better armed now.
dbp95 November 19, 2008, 06:56 PM I used to own a pf-9 & 11, had the .380 first, tried em all.
guess you can get a lemon with any purchase of just about anything.
Didn't like the long trigger pull on each, found that the pf's would not
shoot one particular ammo I tried......
Also bought a SCCY-9mm, had multiple problems and still dealing
with some problems with that transaction, even after I traded for
my current carry- Taurus-Ultralight .38.
I'll take a 5-shot in a IWB anyday over the pocket rocks.
good luck !!
Wilson 17&26 November 19, 2008, 08:14 PM I've shot more than 4,000 rounds of Blazer through my first PF-9 and it likes it. Until Kel-Tec cautions against aluminum cased ammunition in their pistol owner’s manual like they do in the Sub 2000 manual, I’ll keep shooting it :)
Dr_2_B November 19, 2008, 09:44 PM Mine's been flawless. Love the compactness. No reason to be relegated to a 380 anymore.
gbelleh November 19, 2008, 10:49 PM I'm surprised by all the "PF-9 is soft shooting" comments. Maybe it's my hand, but I find the recoil of the PF-9 very harsh, while the P-3AT is much softer.
They've both been great, reliable little guns.
Sapper771 November 20, 2008, 12:02 AM I had one and it was nice. Not accurate past 5 yards, long trigger pull. It never jammed. Good little package to drop in you pocket or a purse.
