First Shotgun, 930SPX or 930 Field/Home Combo

I'm a lefty so I was looking at Mossbergs. I'll be using the gun for skeet/trap and home defense.
Obviously the field/home combo is the most obvious choice...but being in CT I can find SPX's pretty easily.
Could the SPX be banned? I'd be more inclined to buy it if it could be. :D
Has anyone put a field barrel on the SPX? Does the rail get in the way when you're sighting with the field barrel?

I guess anything is possible but it is not likely. The gun friendly members of congress would block it, hopefully. The SPX is a 930 so any 930 barrel will work. For your needs I would go with a combo model. I would buy a +2 factory 930 tube ext from Choate and add a tritium bead sight on the 18.5" HD barrel and you will be set.

In CT you can't put a pistol grip stock on the 930 SPX, if you do it transforms itself into an "assault weapon"..... Can't even have the parts in the same location...

Rooster,
Where in CT are you?? I'll be shooting Sporting Clays at the Wallingford Rod & Gun club on Sunday the 23rd if you're interested??
$25.00 for 50 targets, and additional $10.00 if you want to go around again...
I'd be happy to let you try out my 930....
