Folks, I'd like to get some opinions, especially from owners of this pistol. I might have an opportunity to trade my P250 9mm for a P220R carry. I have read of some folks having extractor issues with p220's. The one I'm looking at has the internal extractor

No problem with my 220 Carry. It has the internal extractor, just like 220s have had since 1976. The idea that it took SIG over thirty years to rectify a basic design deficiency seems a little far-fetched. It's my opinion that the recent implementation of an external extractor for the 220 pistol is more of a manufacturing expediency than anything else.

The new P220 Carry has an internal extractor, but it's NOT the same as they've used since 197x.
The new style stainless slides with integral breech blocks use a different, often problematic extractor. Many times, from the factory the extractors on the new-style Sigs have improper tension and the claw lacks the proper radius.
This results in the famous Sig failure to go into battery.
I speak from experience.
I really love Sigs, but I'd stick with an older, folded-steel slide made in Germany model.
FWIW, Sig should make right on any issues, but QC has slipped in recent years.
Good luck.
