Has anyone any experience with the .223/5.56 on deer? Specifically, the MK262 77 OTM load? I have several types of bullets that I can handload, however I have several boxes of Blackhills white box MK262 MOD1.
...and by deer, Im speaking of doe hunting, animals weighing 100-150 lbs on the hoof.
...and yes, I know its been talked about before, and I know that the 'search feature is my friend' but Im asking about a specific load, that I could find no information about.
Thanks!

as seen on midwayusa.com (take with a grain of salt, YMMV):
Jimmy W. of claremore, ok Date posted: 1/30/2008With my Elite Car A4 from RRA with a EO Tech I was able to take a nice 8 point buck that dressed 142 lbs. This bullet is a long bullet do be sure you have at least a 1:8 twist to stabilize it in flight. But like normal a wonderful product from Sierra. Used Accurate 2230 powder.
He was using the 77gr SMK with cannelure

put the bullet where it needs to go and you should be fine.

I've only used the 55 grain Remington soft point, worked fine on two for me and one for my son.
