I'm new to reloading and I read in all these load books recipes however can't I mix and match the components? Right now I am looking for loads that perform similar to factory loads however I will try to make them more consistent so accuracy increases.

What I'm looking for and plan on using are as follows

Bullets all 50-55 grain and either
Seirra Blitzking
Hornady V max
Nosler Ballistic Tip Varmint

Brass
Unfired .223 Winchester

Powder
H335 I read is a good standard powder to start with (I want it at factory speeds so it will match my reticle so about 3250 fps so ~23-24 grains would do?)

Primer
Remington 7 1/2 (I hear this one is reliable - or should I go with something else?)

Will putting all this together work?
And how long should my overall cartridge be after seating the bullet?
I guess this is why you just pick one from the book to start with so you know it works...

50gr Vmax with 26gr H335 is one sweet load out my AR, 1/4" 5 shot group @ 100yds. I trim my cases to 1.755" and my OAL is just under the max of 2.26". Try the components with the recommended starting load and see how they work in your AR.

Another vote for 26.0g H335. I've had better 100yd groups with a lower charge and 50g blitzkings, but I can regularly get 1/2" groups at 100 and for some reason 2/3" groups at 200 yards with 26.0 of H335. You've got a winning combo.
