Is there a 22lr pistol and rifle/carbine combo that can share magazines or clips? I'm looking for a combo similar to how the 9mm Glock 17 and the Kel-Tec Sub2000 (9mm Glock 17 compatible) can share magazines and ammo... however I want this combo in 22lr.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Check on the Browning - I think they have a rifle that may take the Buckmark type mags .

Perhaps consider a revolver and you don't have to worry about magazines

Ruger 10/22 rifle and a 10/22 pistol. I saw the pistol in a magazine today.

and a 10/22 pistol
Oops! I completely forgot the Ruger Charger. That might be easier to find than a Tec-22 and only slightly less cool :)

Browning makes rifle versions of its buck mark pistols.

Technically the Ruger Charger fits the bill, but I should have stated that I'm looking for a pistol that can be carried in a holster... possibly for use with a CCW license.

A pistol that is compatible with the 10/22 Ruger would be best because I'm already planning on owning one of those.

Thanks again.

The thing is, Ruger's 10/22 magazine system sucks to high heaven.

Their pistol magazines are some of the most reliable .22's anywhere. I'd buy a rifle based on their pistol action, but not the other way around. I sold my 10/22 because, frankly, without a lot of non-Ruger parts added, they really don't work very well. I can't ever see parting with my 22/45, though. Love it.

The .22LR AR magazine and action are VERY reliable as well. I really like mine. Tough to fit in a holster, though, in pistol form.

As mentioned, the Buckmark pistol and their rifle based on the same action would fit your criteria. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v601/waterhouse/IMGP2765.jpg

How about the Walther G22 and the P22?

To my knowledge, the Ruger magazine doesn't interchange with a pistol that can be cc'd. You can get a shorter barrel for the Charger and put a Nordic Kit on it, but that is the only thing that I can think of that would be any kind of pistol option for your future 10/22. You can pm if you want to know which aftermarket mags are reliable. Good luck with your search.

Are you kidding? Ruger's rotary magazine has been known to be one of the best designs out there. Aftermarket magazines, with the exception of 1 or 2designs, are quite horrible.

Perhaps it would have been more reliable if you left it alone or let someone else who is familiar with 10/22's work on it. This wasn't a "tell me what you think of 10/22's" thread.

Walther makes a rifle version of their famous GSP target pistol.

However, bring your wallet. (http://www.carlwalther.com/gsp_rifle.htm)

A BIG +1 to that
