Well I went and did it, now I need to know what ammo I should buy(both brand and grain) for the PM40 for both the range and personal defense.

The lighter 135 or 155gr bullets will be better because of recoil. The heavier bullets have more recoil and more penetration than you need. Any one of the premium bullets would be best. Just pick the one that is more accurate and of course one that will will function 100%.

I'd have to agree with mete. I'd go with a lighter grain bullet to get maximum velocity from the short barrel.

Here's a pretty good review of some popular defense ammo and calibers. IMO, they give good advice.

Sure a nice light bullet like the RBCD .40 Tactical, 70gr bullet going over 2300 fps and at standard pressure.

I didn't even know they made that light of a bullet for the .40

Locally I've been able to find JHPs down to 115gr, but FMJ seem to only be found in 180gr.

I bought the 135gr corbons and mail ordered some Federal 155gr FMJ.

Thanks for all the responses.
