I think it's a great idea, but you will likely get a visit from the local leos. A couple of us did the same for a recent western movie. We required single action revolvers to be worn.

Murf26, go on over to www.opencarry.org and look for your state. I know the Utah chapter does them monthly, I'd imagine NC does them on occasion as well.

We have regular open carry meetings here in Oregon on a somewhat regular basis. We have been organizing them on opencarry.org.
