packing.org isn't specific on this so I'll ask here I guess:

First, no I don't wanna go walking around town with a gun on clear display...but say I was on my way to or from the range(maybe a stop to pick up some ammo, obviously in a more rural area not a big city...), and had a pistol already holstered on my hip(openly, not concealed)...is this legal?
I know my state(KY) allows for open carry, but since you have to be 21 yrs old to technically buy a pistol(hence the pistols are not mine according to the law), not sure if I would have even more hassles from this...

thx

not sure what the law reads exactly for your particular state, but in Alaska, while it is unlawful for a person under 21 to BUY a handgun from a retailer, they can still buy from individuals privately.
so far as i know, a 19 yr old in alaska can open carry. many will have their parents buy the gun/ammo for them.

The Kentucky State Police CCW Dept was asked a question like this: Would an out of state permit holder who is under the age of 21 be able to carry on the permit.

The answer from the KSP was in the affirmative. However,

1. I do not know the laws on particulars of possession in the Commonwealth for people under 21 for handguns.

2. The answer that was given was for a PERMIT HOLDER. I do not know if the particular of Kentucky law allow a person in KY, who's a resident of Kentucky, to apply for a non-resident permit and just carry on that permit.

I was wondering that...if I could just applky for an Indiana permit, and then carry concealed in KY with that permit...

hmm..still not sure...
