OK so I purchased a Winchester modle 94AE .44MAG Trapper about 3 years ago and it had a few minor flaws when I got it but I didn't have a problem with it back then............now I do since most of my firearms sit in the safe now that I don't live out in the country I've decided to fix the little flaws on some of them but I don't know what to do about these 2 spots

These aren't the best photos but I'll have to take some more when I get a chance.

For the bluing you could try a Birchwood-Casey Touch-Up Bluing Pin.
But, some newer Winchester 94's have receivers made out of Mystery-Metal that won't take traditional bluing.
You will just have to try it.

If it won't take blue, B-C also makes Aluminum Touch-Up pins that are actually paint. That should match up fairly close.

Near as I can tell from the crummy cell-phone pictures!
The scuff on the stock should respond well to some Auto Rubbing Compound. Just don't overdo it and rub through the finish.

Agree with Mr. model. The only way you can truly and completely address the "problem" is to have a complete refinish done--hardly worth it in my opinion.

Thanks rcmodle and moosehunt, the thing is it's not just the blueing that's messed up the metal itself is actually "chipped" but I will try that auto rubbing compound

O.K.
The deep scratch on the receiver can only be fixed by draw-filing it out, polishing, and refinishing.

If the Blue Pin will work on your receiver, the best you can do yourself is smooth up the scratchs sharp edges with a fine-cut file & fine emory paper, as much as possible, and use the Touch-Up bluing to try & cover it up.

But more then likely, it will look worse then it does now. I'd just knock off the sharp edges with a needle file and touch it up one way or the other.

Thanks rcmodel, I think I'll go ahead and do that since draw-filling would most likely cost me more than I'm willing to pay since I don't know how to do it myself.
