Thinking of selling my P226 X-5. Thoughts?

Lately I've been thinking of selling my P226 X-5 Competition .40 to help fund a high end (Wilson Combat, Les Baer, Nighthawk) 1911. I have a few other SIG pistols, and to be 100% honest I shoot my P220ST just as well, if not better than the X-5. I've wanted a 1911 for awhile, and while the X-5 is a great gun, I've probably put 500 rounds through it at the most. Just curious to see what others thought.

Why not?
The X-fives are well made guns but Sig Sauer either does not understand or does not care about the US competition market and their above-service-pistol products are not well suited to our use. They just amount to fancy plinkers, seldom used where score is kept.

It's a hard decision and I almost replied to your post over at Sigforum. If it is what you want then go for it!

I agree with Jim, the P226 X5 is a pistol without a purpose in the US. It's setup as a competition pistol but isn't legal in any IDPA division or any division it'd be competitive in USPSA.

hock it if it's not one of your favorites.

What bp68 said. The X-5 is an amazing weapon, but it's the answer to a question that's yet to be asked.

Get yourself that Wilson Combat or that Les Baer Thunder Ranch!
(That's what I'm saving my pennies for!)

I'm starting to lean in the direction of selling it. Out of my pistols it would be one of the first to go if I had to sell something (my stainless P220 and my P7 would be the last ones to go). Now all I have to do is decide for sure, get the gun sold, and find someone with a Les Baer, Ed Brown, Wilson, and Nighthawk for me to drool over in person.
