I have an old family shotgun I would like to know more about, it is a "springfield" single shot shotgun my father owned and had long before i was born ( I'm 60 years old ). I believe it was manufactured by Savage Arms by only minimal research. The serial number is 21386 with a letter ( K ) above the serial number. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Springfield Arms Company was one of the trade names used by the J. Stevens Arms and Tool Company.

They were in business under that name from 1886 to 1915.
They then became the J. Stevens Arms Company 1915-1940.
Then just Stevens 1940-1991.
At that point they were bought by Savage.

Your serial number info is of little use in dating your shotgun, as there is almost zero collector interest, and I don't know of any records available for them.
