Front sling swivel and rod interference

I'm trying to fit a front sling swivel to a synthetic stock CVA Mountain Stalker. Of course, once I got it apart, I immediately noticed the ramrod will definitely interfere with a long wood screw sling stud. Oh well.

Having searched and Googled the internet, I don't find much of an alternative to using a machine screw threaded stud with nut, or doing the same to what I have. A ramrod thimble with stud could work if I found one, and if it fit. More complication. Unfortunately, the best black powder shop in the area is closed due to the untimely death of the owner and wife. The investigation is still ongoing.

Am I missing anything, and still need to find the right stud, and is there some secret knowledge among muzzleloaders as to where the right part is?

Look for a sling swivel kit from Uncle Mikes that is for a Winchester M94 or a Marlin 1894 carbine, the swivel for the fron hooks around the tube magazines & will work for the Ram Rod Thimbles on our rifle.

The spot that you would attach a swivel under the barrel on those plastic stocks are a little too low & with most of the weight up fron on these rifles will make it top heavy when you carry it slung like this.

Good point, I noticed the very weight forward bias of the octagon barrel. The stock is a little short.

I've got a '94 with the barrel band swivel. I can definitely check fit to see how it works. Plenty of those on the peg hooks around here. The only disadvantage may be the ramrod swivel is the same slick plastic as the stock. At least it is dovetailed and screwed in, and a good 6 inches higher on the barrel.

Great idea! Just the kind of thing I knew was out there for an answer.
