Who's VZ 58 is the best?

The CZ imports or the Ohio Ordnance version.

Are there any other makers/importers for the VZ?

Is this a trick question?

The OOW is reverse engineered.

The Czech made version is the best.

Don't even get me started on ORF.

I was thinking that as well.

But once someone here in the states has to modify the civillian reciever to take hi-cap mags it could screw things up.

Are the OOW recievers any good?

The Czech made rifles come ready to rock - no machining needed.

I thought they had to widen the magwell to take the Hi cap mags.

Now I need to go through all my old mags...

I thought the VZ58 was made by D-Technik Imported by CZ USA converted to take Hi cap mags and made 922r compliant by TGI and the sold through CZ USA dealers.

Who is the one vote for OOW and why?

Does CZ have someone making receivers here in the US? I may be missing something on 922r issues, but wouldn't they either have to be modifying low-cap receivers or using US receivers to get an import-legal rifle?

So long as it's compliant with 922r when it's sold is all that matters.

They are imported single stack and are modified in the US and made 922r complaint. As far as I know, they are imported fully-assembled and are only machined out for the larger magazines, but I could be wrong.

These are handy little rifles. I wonder why they have not been better excepted. I rarely see them at gun shows or the range.

They have been going up in price a lot over the past year. They were increasing in cost before the election. I used to see them for $650-$700 and now they are in the $900-$1000 range.

I take it people like the CZ over the OOW.

They're kind of a sleeper gun to date, I think -- even a lot of gun enthusiasts don't quite understand that they're different than AKs, etc.

Still, I think CZ is doing pretty brisk business on them. If Barry-O doesn't cut off our easy access to them, I think they'll be as well known as, say, the Galil within a few years time.

Can't speak for the Ohio Ordinance version, but the D-Technik VZ-58 is a fantastic rifle.

Galil parts are hard to come buy.

I hope the CZ VZ58 catches on a littel better than the Galil did. Just try locating a IMI .308 Galil barrel that hasn't been fitteed to a gun already.

What are VZ58 parts kits going for?

Any good sources for parts kits now?

I just saw this vz.58 rail on the Precision Reflex Inc (http://www.pri-mounts.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PRI&Product_Code=02-VZ58&Category_Code=SPECIALS) website. Anyone seen this one yet in person or used it? Apparently it's an in-house design by them.

CZ-USA is evaluating several accessories to bring in for the vZ-58, including more than one stock/forearm assembly. Should be interesting.

There is nothing new on the CZ web site. Are they going to do more "tac-ti-cool" models?

Am I the only one thinking the metal finish looks like grey spray paint?

Disclaimer: I own CZ products and know their reputation for quality.

What is oob moa on a D-Technic vz58? Does the group worsen with with a hot barrel like a mini 14?

I am having an internal debate between the ar180, mini14 580 tapered barrel and the vz58.
My price range is about $1000 with 4 mags.

Cheers
