"Gun Goo" or whatever, I don't care what you call it as long as it works like Tuner says!

I just lubed a 1911 with it after a detailed breakdown and cleaning. Works very well. I have used it on two short range trips and it is still slick as snot. It will be interesting to see how long that lasts and what a little Gun Butter or MPro7 will do as far as "revitalizing" it when it starts losing its slickness.

A little goes a loooooong way. :)

Forget the Gun Butter. Dave's stuff works into the pores of the steel and hangs on like a bulldog.

After shooting he gun, strip and clean it by dry-wiping and lightly...LIGHTLY...reapplying the Gooey Lube. :D (Sorry Dave. Irresistable impulse.)

After the third treatment, clean normally and just add a little oil. You probably won't have to re-treat for 10,000 rounds. The treated areas feel a little like the teflon coating on a frying pan.

My test platforms consisting of 3 Colt 91A1s haven't lost any slickness since I used the stuff...and that's been a while. For sheets and geegles, after the 3rd treatment, I didn't use any lubricant, and just shot'em dry...and I shot'em long and hard and hot...up to 500 rounds per gun per session. The guns never burped, and at the end of the sessions, they were as slick as they were when I started.

Used correctly, that tub you bought will probably last the rest of your natural life. It beats anything I've ever seen, heard tell of, or stepped in.

Use it on a squeaky door hinge pin and it'll never squeak again. If this catches on, it'll cause WD40's stock to bottom out.

Yes. That's how I did it...for testing purposes...to see how long it would hold up after the initial treatment. Some may not want to subject their equipment to that...and decide to go ahead and apply oil, but since some oils do contain solvents, it may be counterproductive to the process.

Had some on a couple AKs, SKSs, and a couple semi-auto hangguns for a month or so now. Did it like Tuner said. The only drawback I've found is extreme cold(single digit temps). It's just thick enough that the actions cycle noticeably slower. Nowhere near a stoppage or problem, but noticeable.

On the high side, it's easily the slickest stuff I've ever used on a gun.

Details-

I've got it on close to a dozen different different guns at the moment, collective 4ish thousand rounds. Flawless. No issues at all. Still slick when ABSOLUTELY filthy.

Also very slick on bolt rails and cocking cams in bolt action rifles.

For the folks that have been CCW with this in place, how well is it holding up? Is it safe to assume you are not finding yourselves needing to reapply it once every week or two.....

Has anyone tried conditioning a bore with this, following cleaning/ degreasing and maybe warming in an oven to increase the size of the pores in the surface? I'm thinking the benefit might be easier cleaning rather than a few more fps.

I've been using it without complaint on my regular range guns. Seems to be working just fine.

I haven't done any low-temp shooting, but in 40F-90F temps it holds together and, well, acts like grease. So far, I've been treating it as I would any other grease; wipe it off after 300-400 rounds and reapply.

X-19A. must be shaken very well before spraying. little dab'll do ya.
I had a pistol I treated with it (9mm) out in the 12*F temps here few days back - apparently no concern.
make sure you patch the bore well if you apply there.

I have been bragging this stuff up like mad to my family. I applied it to all of their guns. Needless to say, they were sold. So,went to order more of it to give to family members, and learned the sad news.

I'm really bummed about this -- I have a bottle of everything, and this stuff is the best. I guess if I run out, I'll go back to Slip 2000 or Pro-Shot. *grumble, grumble*

I bought a jar of the "Ultimate Gun Lube" from Berryhill Custom, LLC some time ago. Been reading that it is no longer available.

I came across this "Eel Snot Gun Lube" several weeks ago. A guy that retired out of the Special Forces gave me a couple of sample bottles. Thought I'd post it here as an alternative too see if anyone has ever heard of this.

I have not tried it yet, I've emailed "1911 Tuner" about it but I've not heard anything from him yet.
Has anybody used this?

I got a bottle of the Eelsnot last year, and have nothing but good to say about it. Have used in on Glocks, Paras, Colts, EAA's, AR10s, AR15s, bolt guns, shotguns, revolvers, door hinges, car door latches, and hand tools. Seldom do I get excited about lube. Oil is oil..... Many multipurpose products do nothing well (CLP can't do all three as well as specialized products, but it might be great if it is all you have.) THIS is good stuff. It's NOT Mobil 1 repackaged (which I've used for 12 years). And it's not a teflon product that separates if it sets (which I used for 2 years before that). Stays mixed, stays slick, and stays where I put it. NOT cheap, and worth every cent. I'm STILL working on my first ounce. Take a chance.
