A buddy of mine recently picked up a Sig P250 in .40 and he has been having feeding problems with Magtech ammo. He picked up a box of Magtech 180 grain ammo the other day and the gun refused feed it. He would fire a round and the next round wouldn't chamber completely, this happened after nearly every round. He finally gave up on the gun for the day with plans to try a different ammo next time.

The next time out he tried some of the Winchester Wally World ammo and it seemed to feed fine. Is there a reason why the gun would accept the Winchester ammo and not the Magtech?

I guess the main question would be is this a problem with the gun or the ammo? He spent a good bit of money on this gun and I feel bad that its been giving him problems.

Sometimes, firearms are ammo sensitive and for me, not acceptable. With that said, since the weapon functions fine with WWB, you may also try some Blazer. If the firearms runs fine with WWB and Blazer, then perhaps it is a simple preference issue. I would run a few hundred rounds of ammunition through it (the kind that it likes) and then revisit the Magtech. If you have problems with the pistol using different types of ammunition, then contact Sig Customer Service.

The P250 has had some reported issues over on Sigforum, just to let you know; however, most of the problems deal with failures to extract and light primer strikes.

Check out Sig Forum. There is a post about the design of the magazine follower on the 40 cal causing the rounds to nose dive and get hung up on the front of the mag.
