Has anyone tried the poormans trigger job on a blackhawk? Is there a downfall in doing this?

so far maybe 50 - 100 rounds no problem except for the first shot surprise.

I did it on my Blackhawk and have not had any problems.
Could it cause a problem?

I tried it. Trigger was so light it freaked me out. I shot some great groups, tho.
That spring arm trick own't affect function at all. Your gun will fire fine - hopefully only when you want it to. I'd be concerned about rendering the gun more prone to discharge if you accidentally drop it while it's cocked.
Granted, one doesn't run around with a cocked single-action, but who knows - anything can happen.
Might be a good idea for a hunting-only gun. You'd better have good trigger discipline with a pull weight in the under-3lb range.

I've done it on lots of Blackhawks and Single-Sixes and it works great and causes no issues at all.

FWIW I would rather put a lighter trigger spring in. I just don't like that spring leg hanging down. Got be careful about a too light spring that won't reset the trigger though. Neither solution will get rid of creep.

thax for lettin me know it causes no issues. I was a little concerned. I would think if it causes bad resets due to worn spring I could put it back on and take the other spring off. Resets have not been an issue. Although I am unsure if I will leave it that way cuz the trigger may be too light for me
