Sorry if it's been discussed, but I couldn't figure a good search (getting around the two two-letter deals). Does anyone use any version of the XD for regular CCW? I hear holster options are very limited so far.

Ed, visit www.xdtalk.com (http://www.xdtalk.com) for all things XD. That said, mine rides IWB in a Blade-Tech Ultimate Concealment holster.

Chuck Taylor has an interesting article in this years Guns & Ammo 2004 Annual Handguns called "Clash of the Titans" in which he compares the XD with his old Glock 17. He rates the XD higher in features and comments that if the XD holds up in long term reliability that he would rate it higher than the Glock. He has also put the XD through some of his "torture tests" but not to the extent that he has the G17. For now he says that the Glock has not been unseated because of its proven record of reliability. Personally I like the simplicity of the Glock.

I have a xd-9 sub compact and a fist iwm kydex sheath for it. Im quite impressed with the fist line of holsters, and I hear rumors that they are coming out with iwb holsters for the weapon and weaponlights.

I carry both an XD357 and an XD9 concealed at different times. I carry the XD9 in a Bladetech IWB holster, and the XD357 travels in a FIST #20 IWB. There are more than enough holster selections to find one or two that will make you happy.

Gunners Alley, they have an ad at top of the XD forums website........ XD Forums (http://www.hs2000talk.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi) ...They have a great selection of holsters for the XD, I like leather so I got a Frist #8 close cropped and I love it. I carry my XD every day.

I tossed back and forth between Sidearmor and Blade-Tech for a while before settling on the Sidearmor. I've not heard complaints about either. Most of the leather makers (Kramer comes to mind) will probably be able to make something for you too.

For my XD9s (plural), I use Blade-Tech, and Milt Sparks. For the Sparks, the Versamax II is the ticket. IWB, and low profile.

FWIW,

Cen-Dex makes excellent Kydex for XD's.

Take a look at the Taylor "NightHawk":

I was just told the other day that one of our folks carries a HS2000 as an off duty weapon, and I qualified someone from another agency about a week ago with his new full size XD9 (off duty weapon). I shot several magazines through it, and it seemed fine.

I'm guessing we'll start to see more of them ...
