Caliber negotiable, but D.A./S.A. is not (although can be of the striker fired "D.A./S.A." variety like the P99, so long as heavier/longer first pull). Bonus points for no M.S. and a grip frame that accommodates 3 fingers like the 17.6 oz. P232 does.

Other than the P232, you aren't going to find a whole lot of current production "quality" DA/SA pistols out there. Most subcompact and pocket sized pistols are going striker fired to cut back on costs and make the dimensions smaller.

I say consider the P232 .380acp. It's probably the most reliable blowback pistol on the market, and it of course has the legendary Sig accuracy. Definately a long term keeper. The only downside to the P232 is that you can't change out the front sight without the help of a gunsmith........just like the Beretta 92F.

H&K P-7 is fairly thin, striker-fired, and will accompany three fingers

It seems that's the direction so much is heading now. I think H.A. has found the smallest/thinnest being a .25 auto I.D.K. I guess I was hoping there'd be more in the way of P232 .380 A.C.P. types, but once you get under 20 oz, they are polymer striker-fired and usually pinky-danglers. And probably not up to Sig quality.

O.O.L. how much does that P-7 weigh? I am a fan of H.K. since my P2000, but didn't realize they made anything much lighter/thinner.

The P7 isn't in production anymore. It's an interesting design, but it has some characteristics that you may not find appealing. It is a gas operated pistol with a fixed barrel. This lessens recoil, but makes the pistol heat up much faster and it gets more dirty. The fixed barrel also makes it very accurate. The biggest issue is that it requires you to squeeze the grip in order to cock the pistol. Release your squeeze and it decocks. Some don't mind it, but I find it annoying. It is also an older design, so the vast majority of models are not stainless steel and have a blued finish. Lastly, you'll likely pay $1500 for one and the magazines are pretty pricey too.

I'm not able to decode Bonus points for no M.S. What is M.S.?

Along with the thin and light P232, some of the older Brownings in .32acp and .380acp are very thin. While these are all steel, they are still pretty light.

Similar models were made into the 1970's.

While I'm not a real fan of Bersa they do make the Concealed Carry model, dedicated and designed for that purpose.

Although a few ounces heavier than the Sig, the Walther PP line set the standard for CC in a DA/SA and they are still worthy of consideration.

Thanks.
No M.S. then, I see. That narrows it down to the Sig P230/232 pretty much.

B.T.W. I meant manual safety, but I'm no fan of mag safeties either (sorry for the ambiguity)! Thanks U.S.P.

F.Y.I. but it looks like the P7 weighs 30 ounces, empty.
