Have a MAB PA15 9mm in my collection for a few years now,and was wondering if they ever found favour in the USA. Bought mine new in 1973,believe they stopped production in the early 80s,Anyone else still own one.pic enc.Kestral

I had one many years ago; late '70's as near as I can remember. I had just sold a very nice Browning Hi-Power (beauty was only skin deep as this gun would only hit the side of a barn if thrown directly at it), and was looking for a more functional and accurate 9mm. to replace it. I came across a used but still in excellent condition MAB PA-15. The three things that impressed me with this gun were: its sheer ruggedness and dependability; its ability to handle anything from light target loads to +P rounds without a single problem; and a super light and crisp trigger which made shooting this gun a dream. Drawbacks were few: with a weight of around 39 ounces, it was 7 or 8 ounces heavier than a Hi-Power; and spare parts and mags were very difficult to come by. Eventually I swapped it for a S&W Model 469, and regretted doing so ever since. I don't remember what happened to the S&W, but I sure would love to have that PA-15 back.

The MAB P-15 seems to be an excellent pistol. It is large and heavy for a 9m.m. which probably worked against. It also lacked a popular name and reputation like the BROWNING Hi-Power.

I have seen a few over the years, but they are rare in the U.S. in my experience.

Accurate and very reliable.
