I have searched for different storage solutions for my growing number of pistols. Some of the items I found cost damn near as much as a gun:confused:
This may be old news to some of you but I just found this site and was impressed with his products and pricing. I know I well be ordering the bulk of my xmas gifts here.

I like these. They don't take up much space and are heavy duty.
For just a few dollars more you get a custom wood rack with storage. I have never been a big fan of the dishwasher style racks, but variety is what it's about.
If you don't mind buying import, these (http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=407950) are very nice for the price, holds a dozen pistols for $35.

I think the Cabelas gun racks are too over priced for what they are.

I have the Caela's racks - work fine. I've seen the others at a shoot - they appeared to be very well made, but just too big for my particular safe set-up...

Plus, and I hope I'm not the only one to realize this; just think how easy it would be to clean your guns.
Put it on "Pot Scrubber", use an anti-spot soap for the cleaning cycle, then add a cup of gun oil for the rinse cycle, and you're good to go. ;)
But then, I do like the look of the wooden racks. I'm in the wood business and I have about 1000 bd.ft. of Purple Heart that just sits there... waiting to be made into something useful. :scrutiny:

I've done a little wood working and am impressed with the reasonable prices. Might have to make myself some one of these days. I have a pile of cedar boards needing
to be used. The bird feeders can wait. :)

At $5 per gun ($30 for a 6 gun unit) for store bought storage racks I was looking at a considerable expense. Maybe $400 or more. They seemed pricey to me for what they were so I just made my own using 1x2 pine, 3/8" wooden dowels, and peel & stick padding (actually door insulation but the guns don't know that). Total for materials was maybe $30 and it took a couple hours.
The barrels do rest on the table top but the safes' shelves are carpeted and that works fine. As you can see, any barrel length will fit and to further protect the pistols I placed each in a light cloth bag so they don't make metal to metal contact if I bump them while taking them out or putting them in.
CRAP! someone likes wheelguns. How long have you been collecting saxon?
