I like it. Kinda pricey. I'm afraid to check on price of 50gi ammo. Probably scare the daylights out of me.

Why??
What is a .50GI going to do that a .45acp will not, or a 10mm?

The kit is going for more than the price of a new Glock! I'd rather get a pair of G20s than a kit for some no-name cartridge. Also, energy-wise, 10mm smokes the .50 GI. I'm not really sure who would want this kit, but I suppose it's something different for the guy who has everything.
EDIT: On further research, it appears if the .50 GI is loaded hot, it gets into .41 magnum power levels (according to the guncrafter website). I still stand by everything else however.

The .50 GI is a waste of time and money if you ask me. It doesn't do anything that several other calibers do already. Not to mention that rebated rim cases are not exactly the be all end all of reliability when it comes to feed issues.
I don't know why but some people seem to think that anything that says ".50" on it is some sort of magical super cartrdige.

Yup. It's all in the marketing.

Does it look cooler with the big hole in the end of the gun?
As a "something different" cartridge I would consider it for a 1911... but only consider it.
Way too expensive and if I want more power than a hot loaded .45 acp I would convert to 10mm.

The write ups on the GI 1911 pistols gave the quality, fit and accuracy all high marks and also IIRC the guys who build them are familiar names within the Pistol market and excellent all around Smith's who worked for Bill Wilson (Wilson Combat) I can't remember the name of the men who designed the original pistol.
If you were enamored with your GI 1911 purchase and wanted a complementary gun, this would do it. I had another point I considered valid a minute ago but I lost it....

Bleh. If you can invent the cartridge and chamber a Glock in something like ".666 Demonslayer" I'll buy it, but I'm not going for this one. 10mm rules, and even THAT has the drawbacks of ammo price, availability, and selection. 50 GI simply worsens that situation.
