How to Import Firearms

Was on a recent business trip to Switzerland and walked into a gun shop with an interesting collection of Lugers. They are in a position to export firearms out of Switzerland and have done so for US customers in the past. I spoke with ATF today and they said that I should work with an FFL dealer and fill out a Form 6a.

None of the FFL dealers I called in the Minneapolis area are able or willing to do this on my behalf.

Does anyone have any experience with importing firearms? Any recommendations for a dealer in MN that could handle this for me? Any recommendations for any dealer that could import and receive these guns for me and then do a domestic FFL-FFL transfer to a local dealer in MN.

If this is in the wrong forum please tell me where to post this.

Thanks in adance

pgoinath you might check to see if lovely old laws of 68' apply to those guns causing them to have to be stamped by the importer--thereby hurting there value.

Go to www.gunbroker.com There will be a list of dealers in your area. Big, small, and medium.

Seems like this might be the way to go if no one local is willing to do it for you.
See if you can contact the swiss shop - and have them give you the name of a US Importer they've worked with in the past. Clearly they've gone through this before - see who they like/don't like dealing with in the states.
