Well done – I have one as well that’s been flawless. They are tons of fun and easy on the wallet.

Beautiful gun. I'd definitely have gotten the Mark III over the .44 mag. Great for target practice, and you'll save a bundle on ammo.

I've got a MK III Competition Target and I love it but....

It jammed like crazy when I got it, regardless of ammo type (tried 10 different brands/loads) and amount of lube. Had to send it back to Ruger and wait 3 MONTHS to get it back.

Since then it's been flawless and I've grown to really love it. I don't see buying another Ruger autolader again though.

6 7/8" barrel - 45 ounces - stainless steel Competition Model that loves CCI Mini-Mags, Velocitors, and Stingers. Over 2000 CCI rounds fired thus far without a single misfire. I clean my stainless baby .22 after every outing. The Coco Bolo grips are pretty. Accuracy is governed by me. The Mark III is every bit as accurate as I am. The Mark III has "chamber-loaded indicator," mag out trigger lock-out, internal manual trigger lock. Safe and Modern. cliffy

I can understand your decision, and it was a good one. Once upon a time, I owned a nice Ruger KGP-161 .357 Magnum. In a moment of stupidity, I traded it in on a Savage .223 bolt-action. I've lived to regret that decision. I want another revolver and it's come down to a KGP-161 and a Ruger Single-Six. Logically, the inexpensive shooting nature of the .22LR certainly speaks louder, as I can afford to shoot it more.

Hope you enjoy your new semi-auto.

Beautiful gun. I kind of had my eye on one myself, but i just can't get past the MKIII thing..... Call me old and decrepit.

I just installed a HiViz fiber optic front sight on one of my Ruger MKIIs, and I like it immensely. It's very easy to pick up.

If you will visit my blog, you will find quite a few Ruger MKII posts (http://xavierthoughts.blogspot.com/search/label/Ruger), along with some links in them to some informative websites about these particular guns.

Congrats!!!

I have a Mk III Hunter with the Fluted barrel. Great gun. Fun to shoot. Very accurate, and cheap ammo. I've been shooting mine more lately just becaues of the high replacement cost.

The first thing that caught my eyes were those grips on your Ruger. Those grips looks great! I bought a Ruger Mark III Hunter 6 7/8" stainless fluted barrel the other month. I ordered a set of Ruger cocobolo target grips and mount them the other week. They are very comfortable and cool looking. I had a Aimpoint H-1 red dot that I was going to use on a project that I scrapped so I mounted it on my new Ruger.

Congrats on your new Ruger. Buy a lot of magazines and ammo. If you haven't already, get an Ultimate Clip Loader. Makes loading ammo quick and easy.

Welcome to the MK3 club!

Great pistols, just make sure you clean it after every outing and you'll have no problems.
