Looking for reccommendations; I now have a C-cell Maglight on my Winchester Defender, but after a while, even with a sling, I find it to be a bit heavy. The Maglight will reach out 100+ feet, which is a comfortable range at night. I'd like to use something else, however, if I have to do some nighttime "streetsweeping" with 3" magnums....

I see Clearview Investments Inc. offers the Streamlight Scorpion and a Sport Light. The former is more expensive, most likely the better of the bunch.

Does anyone have any comments on these or other lights that can handle the shock and give me 50 to 100+ feet of vision? Also that would be small enough to not have to extend past the barrel like my C-cell Maglight?

The second question is that of a sling; what sort of tactical sling would be good to use? I would like for the sling from front to back go up over behind my neck and down behind the shoulder to the inside of my elbow and to the stock. This is a configuration that I carry my AK47 in, but the Defender is longer and the sling I use isn't long enough for that. BTW, I use the ATI Buttstock w/Pistol Grip.

Reason being, we have problems with wild and "let loose at night" dogs around here. Three are very large Rottweilers (sp?) that have killed & maimed several of my dogs here. My kids can't even ride their bikes down the road! So far, Animal Control can't catch these three- they're like smoke when persued, but like devils when they attack.

Thanks in advance!:fire:

Surefire G2 is very inexpensive about the price of a Streamlight Scorpion. It's light weight and comes in black, od green, and yellow.

$27.50

Does any one know of a universal mount for it?

This is about the cheapest I have been able to find a dedicated forearm light for a Winchester Defender:

Surefire Weapon Light 636FA (http://www.productwizard.com/suweli63.html)

and it seems that they have the best rep... I personally have not eveluated them.
