Anyone have one of these? They are legal to hunt deer with in Indiana and would like to try something different than my muzzle loader. Who have you purchased from? How was the service, etc. Thanks!

Well, i don't own one, but before i do, i will be getting reloading epuip. AS for manufactures, RRA seems to be the most popular, and their service is very good.

I've got one and got a nice button buck with it last week using my reloads with 300gr HP slugs, Federal 150 primers, and 32 grains of Lil Gun powder. That combo gives me just over 1800fps. This load will hold a baseball sized group or better at 100" even though the twist rate is better suited for heavier slugs.

I had an issue when i first got the upper with rounds FTE constantly. I talked to a RRA rep that I found through the SOCOM forums and he said to take pictures, document my issue and send my upper to RRA. A week later I had the upper back and have had absolutely zero issues probably close to 1,000 rounds later.

Forgot to add that the upper receiver, barrel, and flash-hider are RRA that were ordered direct from a dealer, replaced the factory handguard with a Larue rail.

Really nice shooting stick!!!!

And I know that you didn't mean to say "baseball sized group or better at 100"..." I think what you meant to say/use is here. "=inches, '=feet, yds means yards=36"/inches!!!!!

Just jerking your chain a little:neener:!!!

Great to see you were successful at getting some meat for the freezer.

How do you like your Leupold and what reticle do you have in it?

Sorry, how bout a 2.5" - 3.5" group at 100yds with those loads?

The button buck was about 60yds, but I got 2 does that week with a 300Wby. One was around 250yds and the other was closer to 280.

Those pics are from when I first finished building it, I have since changed the Falcon grip and put on an Arms Tech grip extension with a Hogue.

Love the Leupold, it is a 30mm 1.5-5x illuminated duplex and is rock solid in the Larue mount.

Might not be able to see the grip too well in this pic.
