Hi all,

I've got a NA Tokarev TU-90. I haven't shot it much, but plan to get out to the range more often.

I see that imported 7.62x25 ammo is often described as being corrosive, so I figure that I should learn how to field strip and clean the weapon before I start shooting more.

I found one link that describes disassembly, but not reassembly: http://www.gunsworld.com/assembly/tokarev_ass_us.htm

And I found a link where I could purchase a manual for "Field Disassembly & Reassembly Instructions" for various Military Surplus pistols including the "Tokarev TT-33 Pistol". http://www.surplusrifle.com/pistoltt33/index.asp

Would that manual be appropriate for my TU-90?

Thanks, all

John,
The TU90 is pretty much the same as the other Chinese TT33 clones, it just has different style grips. Most manuals will apply, but there are some differences on pistols with import mandated safeties. Most Chinese are on the rear of the frame, though there was a slide mounted one. Eastern bloc Toks have a safety near the trigger guard. Also, 9mm versions have two different magazine configurations. There is some background info on them here (http://www.buymilsurp.com/chinese-type-54-commercial-tu90-762x25-chromed-p-5161.html).

In regards to dis-assembly/assembly information:
Manuals for them are pretty cheap on Ebay; search "Tokarev"
"How To" videos are posted on youtube.com; again search "Tokarev"
I highly recommend this page (particularly for you pistol); it provides excellent instructions for the dis-assembly/assembly of the Chinese variants: http://www.alpharubicon.com/leo/tokarev213.htm

Welcome to the forums; enjoy your TU:) I was very fond of my 213 when I had it.

Regards,
Greg
