And the adaptor is cheaper, and the person who makes it is a board member, and the rail is full length.

Okay, well I was just providing some info for an alternative for you guys.

The one I posted is made in the USA, made from machined alum (instead of cast), is available now, and can take any AR-style grip and buttstock (instead of only collapsible).

Why does its place of manufacture have any bearing on the suitability of the product, especially if there's no patent infringement or slave labor involved?

Loc of manufacture does not have any bearing on quality of product, and I'm sure Argonaut does not emply slave labor.

But for some people, buying an American product = keeping Americans employed, keeping American economy strong, etc. and that's something important to them.

Who is offering the full-length rail and adapter, and how much does it run? That thing makes me want to add an 870 to my collection.

Argonaut Armament, headed up by BrobeeBiter is selling the adaptor.

If something takes a collapsible stock, it should also take the A2 stock, they attach by the same arrangement.

Ask Brobeebiter himself. His adapter cannot take A2 buttstock.

brobee purposefully designed his adaptor to only take the collapseable stock (and maybe the boom tube stocks) because of design considerations in relation to stock height and distance from the reciever.

Andrew Wyatt, what are you, his marketing director? I purposefully did not post in his thread out of courtesy, but here you are giving him publicity on mine.

I've handled the CavArms stuff. It seems real solid.

Min,

Thanks for the plug for our new product. I'm sure the Canadian product is well made, but modularity and commonality of parts are something we always make a high priority when designing any product. We include the rail and an over-molded "soft" ergo grip (a part that retails for over $35.00) in our base package. We tried the A2 grip and found that the improved ergonomics as well as the recoil deadening effects of the santoprene made for a better day at the range. So with this in mind, an “apples to apples” comparison actually makes the SST-870 adapter the best value when compared to similar products. We felt it best to let the customer choose the stock they feel is best for them. Since we are not forcing the end user to use a tel-stock, they are free to shop the market for something they might like betters (The VLTOR or Mag-Pull stocks for example). On my 870 I use an A1 length fixed stock (go figure).

If a shooter simply wants better ergonomic handling while retaining their existing rifle sights, I recommend the Speedfeed pistol grip stocks. It is much more cost effective for that purpose than either the SST-870 or competing products. We designed this system for the purpose of easier more efficient training, and to allow the effective use of red dot optical sights or magnified optics on the shotgun.

The SST-870 mirrors the rear end on an AR15 receiver identically. It allows you to use the same stock and grip on your shotgun that you use on your rifle. The cheek weld is the same as that of your rifle. The height at which your optics sits is identical to that of your rifle. Cross training and transitioning are made much easier between rifle and shotgun using this system. This is a very important benefit to law enforcement, military, and competition shooters as you can maximize your training effectiveness.

If a shooter wants to take advantage of the speed advantages of using a reflex sight (or magnified optics for deer hunting), as well as the cross training benefits mentioned above, we feel there is no better system available than the SST-870 for that purpose.
