That's fast.

Also, this is a cool shotgun. How does it compare to the 11-87 Police?

That shotgun is leaps and bounds better than any 11-87 ever made. Not even close. I have owned and shot both extensively.

My understanding is that some USPSA guys did a test of split times and the X2 was the fastest thing out there.
Now hitting anything at 10 shots a second would be the cool part. :D

There were a couple of sporting clays targets I shot recently that I could have used 5 shots in a 1/2 second. Maybe I would have hit the target. :)

I believe the world record on a Dozier drill (SG at low ready, 5 plates at 10 yards, about a yard apart each) is around 1.3 seconds from the buzzer. Take into account the reaction time and you can see just how flipping fast that is. Those are aimed shots. :) (world record for a pump is 1.8 something!)

(world record for a pump is 1.8 something!) And, I was soldiering on under the delusion that I was at least slightly on the quick side, though I know I'm not fast by anyone's definition.
Holy...

Cor, 2.11 here. Documented at a match. Planets were aligned that day. :D

There was a guy in our squad at the last 3gun with the winchester version.
Would not cycle low brass loads. Cost him lots of time.
Another guy sent his back to Winchester and they opened up the gas ports now it functions fine with anything.
1100 / 11-87 every one I have ever seen or shot works with anything you feed it.

I was a range officer at the Shotgun sidematch at the PSA shootout. The course of fire was 3 large and 2 small poppers spread out about 2-3 yds apart and staggered in depth from about 10-12 yds deep. You could start with the gun on your shoulder but the muzzle had to be touching a table. There were several runs in the 1.4-1.6 second area with a variety of guns including Remington 1100s and Benellis. A good time from the beep to first shot was about .5 second, the splits were in the .22 to .25 second range. A 1.42 won. If you look at Winchester's claim, the split would be about .13. During a 3-Gun competition, I once had a .15 split on a swinging target shooting slugs with my Benelli. Yes, the Winchester or Browning Gold is fast but the difference between them and Remingtons and Benellis is a few 1/100ths of seconds.

How does this Winchester compare to the 11-87 in terms of reliability and durability? Parts breakage, etc?
Thanks,
Steve

Is this based on the X2 or the 1300?

The 1300 is the pump. Does that look like a pump to you? (See above pic).

too bad i'm toxic to all winchesters i try to shoot, (have yet to have any winchester made after about 1960 go more than 20 rounds without an "aw H#!! i hope i left my tool kit in the truck!" or worse stoppage.
not in anyway saying the winchester is bad, just wishing my luck with them wasn't so freaking poor.

Okay - whatever the heck the AUTO is called, is what I was referring to. (1200?) I don't buy Winchester shotguns, so I don't know the models.
Is this based on the X2???

The Practical is based on the Super X 2. This is essentially the same action as used on the Browning Gold without the speed loading feature that transfers a load from the loading port to the chamber. The Gold and SX2 are beginning to show up in practical shotgun competitions but the jury is still out regarding reliability. Briley is pioneering the race parts.

That's Jerry Miculicz speed. Does anybody know what kind of loads they were shooting to have any accuracy at that speed? Or was accuracy not even an issue for this test?
