The problem was never with the states, only the feds. As for what states allow ccw (and therefore now in the national parks as well):

For those of you that would like to see the DOI news release itself.

At present North Dakota does not allow carrying of weapons in "publicly owned parks where hunting is not allowed by proclamation", but hopefully the new bill to remove public gathering restrictions will fix that.


ETA: How long will this last in the Obama administration? Is it solid for a while?

ETA2: Looks like it doesn't matter if state law allows carry in parks, you are still good to go in National Parks if you can carry in the state they are in. More analysis will be needed on this.

A quick skim of the FAQs and other info on www.doi.gov look to be written by a very gun-friendly person or group. Sounds good so far.

Let us hope that this stays under Obama's radar. Hopefully it won't be something he wants to spend any political capital on... but considering the landslide, he may think he can go for it.
