Can anyone help me find some 3 Gun Matches in AL, TN or any place close. I would really like to try this. I would also like any tips and advise concerning this type of shot. Will a Sig P220 work ok for the pistol part? I have a Rem 11-87 Police and an AR, M1A and a FAL.

A sig 220 should be fine. The vast majority of the people that shoot in the SWAT match shoot Ar-15s, because they're accurate and have low recoil.


Provided your 11-87 is reliable, you've got a fine 3-gun battery.

:banghead: So I guess a Glock 22, a Win 94 in 45 Colt and a SXS Coachgun probably wouldn't work for a standard 3 gun match? :confused:

the rifle is right out, unless you go to one of those not really 3 gun matches where everything is done at pistol ranges.


the shotgun should work okay, though.

I'm here (central TN), but I don't know of any in the near future. You just missed the TN state championships bout three weeks ago, if it makes you feel any better ;)

kotengu no that does not make me feel real goood. But I guess I asked to late. So what do I need to practice and are there any courses of fire I could get from some place and pratice? Any thing would be of help.

Practice being fast and accurate - and when you figure it out be sure to let me know how you did it :D

Also - practice reloads (especially with the shotgun), mag changes, and shooting from some strange positions. Get to know your equipment (and carry methods - how are you going to run around while carrying extra mags, shotgun shells, a pistol, and at least one long gun), and then come out and have a good time!

Matt, thanks for the info from the FALFILES. Looked like a fun day and courses of fire. I shoot a mousegun and a FAL so not to worried about the mousegun bashing. I will give you a shout if I hear of a 3 gun match anytime soon and please do the same for me. Hey if you are going to do some practicing let me know.
