Did/does Ruger make a 5.5" .357 Blackhawk?

I'm really interested in getting a .357 Blackhawk to match my 5.5" Super BH, but from what I see on Ruger's website they don't sell them in that length.
So...before I go on a fruitless search...did Ruger at any time make stainless, 5.5" .357's? Or am I gonna have to make one? :D

I don't think so. I have several different versions but I don't recall ever seeing a .357 in 5 1/2". All the calibers have been available in 4 5/8" but the longer barrels vary. All my records indicate that the .357 has only been made in 4 5/8" and 6 1/2".
The .41 mag, .44 mag and .45 Colt had three barrel lengths: 4 5/8", 5 1/2" and 7 1/2", closer to the original Colt barrels of the SAA.
I am sure a Ruger Collector with more information than I have will correct me if I am wrong.

Over the past couple of years there have been a couple of limited runs of 5.5 inch .357 Blackhawks in the Stainless Bisley version through Acusport. And, of course, they made the Vaquero and now the New Vaquero with 5.5 inch barrels.

I thought the .41 magnum topped out at 6.5", not 7.5".

The 7 1/2" .41's were in a Bisle configuration and not the standard Blackhawk. The only stainless .41 s/a's by Ruger were the Acusport Bisleys which had 5 1/2" bbls and the Davidson's .41 Hunters with the 7 1/2" bbls. The later was available in both standrd and Bisley configurations.

Are there records showing how many .41 Hunters were made?

None that i've seen. Initially I believe 1000 of each were contracted (the standard) but there's been more trickleling in the last yr so I'm thinking overrun of parts is getting the original #'s up a bit.
