Herman Cain, Republican for US Senate (Georgia) (http://www.cainforsenate.com/)
Well, with Senator Zell Miller retiring, there will be new faces for the US Senate seat. Anyone know what this guy's stance is on RKBA. Zell Miller was definitely pro-RKBA.

Never heard of him ... but Zell Miller's retiring?
Noooooooooooooooo!
Miller was one of my favorites: a pro-gun democrat(yes there are a few of us out there, endangered, hunted to extinction). I hope he hangs around at least to September 13th of 2004.

Retiring at the end of his term..., which is thing is until the 2004 elections.

I sent an email to him asking if he were able to vote for or against the Assault Weapons Ban, how would he vote.
Good riddance to Miller. We have a chance to really take over the Senate. A clear majority of Republicans will help keep liberal bills stuck in committee.

Good riddance to Miller? You do realize he is one of the most pro-rights senators in Congress right now, right? He's got a better voting record on guns than a lot of Republicans. For one, he has come out against the assault weapons ban and said he will vote against it, which is more than we can say for Republican hero Bush.
Edited to add: My view of Bush is a little more complicated than that, by the way, but overall I'm disappointed.

That sort of "back the GOP to the hilt" thinking really hurts us in the Democratic strongholds like NY and Calif.
I know for a fact I'm not going to be able to get squat done here in Sacratomatoe if I can't talk to the Dems. We've actually got at least one "Zell Miller Dem" (seriously pro-gunner) in the Calif Senate name of Dean Florez, with a number of others ranging from mildly friendly to "at least you can talk to 'em".
The number of rabid *grabbers* among the Dems is actually quite low. Only a dozen or so are the real instigators (bill authors), most of the rest just play along with the loudmouths like Perata out of party loyalty/courtesy.
So a big goal is to help show how the Perata/DiFi/ChuckSchumer level ranting seriously hurts 'em down the road.
Esp. if they ever want a shot at national politics.
