i saw some of these, http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=407996 and thought "what a joke" the magazine would stick out of the bottom like 5". who would want such a thing. i suppose, a competition shooter might, but i would think there would be rules against it. maybe for range work, i guess. but i would rather change out magazines, i think.

I've got two of them. They work OK, but you're right, they stick way out! I keep them just 'cause they're different.

So there are no functional issues with these?

These might be a nice item to pick up for range work provided they function properly.

Sounds awesome. they would be great if there came a time when you didnt particularly care about concealment...say a shtf scenario

"So there are no functional issues with these?"

As a general rule, the higher the capacity of 1911 magazines, the less reliable they are considered to be. The odds of a generic product offered through The Sportsman's Guide to be the exception to said rule... low.

Midway has 15 round National & ProMag mags and the reviews aren't too good......

If you HAD to have the hi-capacity, why not just get a wide-frame 1911?

These might be better for a carbine that takes 1911 mags.

I've tried the 10rd Wilson Combat 1911 mags before and I just could not get used to them. I didn't like them.

I stick with the 7rd standard magazines now.

I bought on ebay a 1911 26 round mag a log time ago, it worked only once, so I sold it. It looked cool.
