In the original thread, this was put up from a company's website:

I wrote my friend Cindy at Colt:
"Cindy, love, the happiest of New Year's to you and yours. I hope you had a good start for it; the kids and I just stayed home and watched the ball drop.
There's a new forum online, and someone made a point about AR-15's. It seems that someone says that Shaw makes barrels for Colt. Is this true, or do you folks make your own, or does another party make them?"
Her reply:
"Michael,
Happy new year to you too. I just had it confirmed, we make our own AR barrels. We use the button-broach method. I hope I spelled that right. Have a wonderful day.
