Which MkII/MkIII bbl for 'bullseye' shooting?

The current "Competition" model, formerly referred to as the "Govt." model, has a full bull bbl of 6 7/8" length. The longer bbl is in aid of sight radius, but since the majority of bullseye shooters use dot sights these days, is the full length, full weight bull bbl the way to go? They may call it the "Competition" model, but would you choose it for competition???

The "Hunter" model has a 6 7/8" fluted bull bbl which looks exceptionally trick, and I've read it is actually lighter than the 5.5" bull bbl. No clue how it balances though.

The 5.5" bull bbl models are plain jane and priced very nicely, but may also be the best buy, irrespective of price, for bullseye shooting (assuming the use of a dot sight or scope).

Then there's also the tapered 6 7/8" 'target" bbl, which isn't too popular and isn't too attractive. But could also be the best weight/balance for bullseye? I dunno.

I don't know. I previously owned an old Govt. model and found it to be front heavy after several mags of slow fire, but if I were using iron sights I'd still want the long bbl.

Strictly in terms of weight and balance, and assuming the use of a dot sight, which of the above is the better bullseye option?

(I'm leaning towards the 5.5" bull)

Ah, I just realized after posting that the "Govt" model had the full bull bbl and the current "Competition" model may have the flat sides (can't remember the term for that), which would also lighten the bbl, though not perhaps as much as the fluting on the Hunter model. Anyway, same question ...

The bull barrels give the gun more weight which helps in the stability but there's one guy in our league that shoots a standard MKII with a fixed sighted tapered 6" barrel with Red Dot sight and does just fine.
