I guess I will send mine back
The trigger is not the same after 300 rounds,I will have that checked also
I was looking at my gun under an eye loop and it looks like I also have a crack on the hammer catch which is right below the hammer

I signed up on the Ruger website, but have not yet received my shipping instructions. Has anyone even sent their LCP back in??

I signed up at least a month ago, but still haven't received my shipping envelope and instructions.

Is it time to call Ruger, or is it supposed to take this long?

I estimate I signed up 4 to 6 weeks ago online, and havent heard back either.

It appears to be ongoing - I've seen folks like Mudflap have sent their's, others have their's back.

It's not going to happen overnight for 63,000 owners. Be patient, it's not an instant gratification process.

More like a baby.

You'll understand later in life.

I sent mine out exactly 1 week ago, got it back today with free mag and LCP cap. Excellent service. I'm glad it's back, I've missed it.

I hear that the LCP cap looks remarkably similar to the P-3AT cap.

Nah, the LCP caps are made of tin foil.

That's okay, I guess you just have to be sure not to drop 'em.

Yea, got mine back Tuesday, sold it today for $325 only paid $265 for it. The LCP caused me to loose faith in Ruger but there repair service is good

Sent mine out on Dec 11th got it back on the 19th free clip and the LCP cap and just like the person before me. I'm sure glad to have it back. The Ruger service is "GREAT" No regrets on this end.
I'd buy it again in a heart beat, this gun is accurate as heck.

I did not know that Ruger had so many uncompensated beta testors. orchidhunter

Mine is being picked up on Monday to go back. I am strongly considering selling it as soon as I get it back.

What everyone keeps forgetting is that there is really nothing wrong with the LCP. Its the same as the Keltec P3AT. The only difference is that Ruger fears lawsuits and is willing to spend money to protect itself. This goes back a long way with Ruger to the days of the old Model Blackhawk. Keltec can't afford to do a recall to correct this issue. So if you have a Keltec, your gun has the same problem as the LCP, its just Keltec can't address.

I've had mine back for a while.

Trigger feels a little different now, and the improved slide stop catch is a big improvement.

The free mag and LCP ballcap sure come in handy too !

I've seen this posted in different ways over the past few weeks, but I haven't seen any data backing it up. Do we know this is a fact?

When I get mine back I'm gonna take it out and run all the .380 ammo I have through it and see if it earns its right to stay at my side. I was thinking about selling it as soon as I got it back but then what would I do with the 200 rounds of .380 I have laying around?

I will give it a 2nd chance.

LONE GUNMAN; Kel tec couldhave had a recall years ago, they choose not to do so. They have never had a recall for any issues, such as recoil springs coming out the front of the slides in less than a 1000, guns. That is not an expensive recall. Many of their needed recalls could have been tracked through serial numbers that gave the issues, again they choose not to..
Difference between Ruger and kt, big time IMO.They will never convince me that the kt's didn't have drop fire issues either, The hammer blocks were identical (interchangeable) Humm wonder why kt made a hammer block change about 4 months ago????Could it be they knew the Ruger had issues and theirs being the same exact part-HUMM, inquiring minds would like to know.

Well since the designs are identical, I would say that yes it is a fact that they should both have the same problems.

the Kel-Tec and the LCP are the same design before. Is that really true? Are the parts interchangeable? I have an LCP and while I am having some feeding problems, I really like the thing. I was going to put another 300 rounds through it tomorrow but, with the storm coming, I doubt that will happen. I now believe that the feed problems have more do with the mag than anything else. It seems to have about 1/16th inch oplay when inserted. If I hold up on the mag when firing there are no problems at all. I will be getting 2 new mags this week.

:D Elsie came back home to me day before yesterday. Was gone 10 days. The trigger feels much better. It has the new slide catch. The false trigger reset is gone, if you release the trigger to the first click it can't be pulled. Has to be released all the way forward like a revo. The letter that came with her said "When we recieved your LCP pistol back for the free safety upgrade, we not only installed a new hammer mechanism, but also incorporated other available changes to further improve your LCP. It is likely the only one you will be able to see is the new manual slide hold-open (assuming you did not have it already), but other, more subtle improvements have been incorporated too, and these should make your LCP even more rugged and reliable in the best Ruger tradition". When it warms up outside I'll try it out, No hurry, my P3AT is in my pocket now.
PS. The mag and cap are nice too.

Mine got picked up by UPS on Friday, so now I can only play the "waiting game". :)

I'm filling in the recall form on Ruger's website. It's asking for a "ship to" address. Can Ruger ship this directly to me, or do I have to have them ship it to someone who holds a FFL?

basicblur
December 22, 2008, 01:19 AM
I'm assuming since you already own the gun, and it's going back to the factory for repairs (or more accurately, warranty), no FFL is required.
AFAIK everyone's using their own address-I saw no mention made anywhere of a FFL. When you get the shipping packet, they'll ask you to MAKE SURE you don't make any mention of it being a firearm-I assume for theft purposes.

Any address is fine... as long as you're there to give it to the UPS driver.
